I created V-Spot LA as a way to get in touch with my wildly interesting and complex community of Venice, CA, while honing my reporting skills and maintaining an online writing profile.

After graduating in ’03 from Texas State University with a degree in Mass Communication and Anthropology, I started working in TV commercial production.  Over the next several years I enjoyed a fairly successful career, but realized I was gaining skills that would help me in my next career.  Journalism was my true calling.

Now, through writing and reporting, I can connect with the people and issues affecting my community, no matter how complex.  Every story I write is a way for me to give back.

Currently, I am enrolled in UCLA Extension’s Journalism program and am the press intern for the office of Councilman Bill Rosendahl in Los Angeles, and also blog for Venice.Patch.com

Thank you, and I hope you enjoy.

If you’d like you can contact me for a resume or story ideas, please do so here:  a_p_b@mac.com.

Thanks, and I hope you enjoy.
